Top ranked quote from my latest post on reddit:

“2nd video in a row from this clueless guy. Previous video complaining about PvP and downtime, trying to give some sort of game theory lecture on how to improve the game.

This video he aims in 3rd person and complains about hit detection?

rofl!”

  1. Its enjoyable to watch the redditors scream at your videos. I also like how they think DayZ is perfect game, minus the bugs. One little bit of recommended change from the community and it’s big bag of shit. If rocket wants to change something, best idea ever. The DayZ reddit community seems so close minded. Just observations. I don’t play the game frequently, very little actually, but it’s easy to spot the problems with this community.

Also WaldoDud, will you be hoping back on D3 to test the upcoming patch? The new features actually seem to be good. Big surprise there.

  4. Yeah reddit is full of bitches. They upvote the stupidest shit like 3rd person comment. Recently in r/mw3 the ban hammer people have been getting praised for banning spawn killers on terminal. Fucking ridiculous.

It feels good to hear someone else point out what seems so apparent to me. It’s a strange feeling when not only do you feel as though your thoughts or ideas are well thought out and supported, but you’re trying to help, and the vast majority of comments seem to relate to my chromosomal deficiencies which have resulted in abnormally retarded thought processes regarding DayZ.

I mean, I realize that posting content anywhere isn’t going to necessarily result in positive comments, but I’m not looking for positive comments necessarily but to create a dialogue with my fellow gamers. Having so many people take issue with what I’m saying is a bit terrifying and makes me question what I’m saying. That said, I’ve yet to find a single post that can substantiate why it is they disagree, but it’s still disconcerting all the same.

I’m new to reddit and I had high hopes so maybe I was expecting too much. The ideas and opinions of nearly everyone on the gaming related sub-forums I’ve browsed have largely been depressing. It’s why I want to do what I’m doing, but wow, what a job.

Whether it’s the DayZ community encouraging auto-run enabled marathon travel times or the CoD crew bashing spawn campers, it’s pretty tough to have a conversation with just about anyone.

  8. The reddit gaming community is to me, 4Chan rejects(as bad as it sounds) who think their insight is God’s gift to the internet. No amount of statistics, visual evidence, or common sense will ever get them to think otherwise.
It’s like trying to convince monkeys to stop hurling their feces at you.

Intelligent conversation isn’t in their schedule. I feel like the only reason they roam reddit is to put down who they can to make themselves feel better about their lives, or lack there of. They can’t come up with reasoning as to why you are wrong because they have all conformed to the ideas that make DayZ a “perfect game.”

When I read this I almost fell out of my seat. These are the people that are talking about how dayz is the most realistic game ever, yet they think that if you don’t ADS then you don’t have a chance in hell to hit someone THAT IS 2 FEET AWAY! Sorry if I think I can hit a target that size with a fully automatic rifle from such a short distance.

Pff… come on dude. Only because you do not perceive nature as you perceive it in DayZ, does not mean that nature is not exactly like in DayZ. It just means that you are limited to the exposition of nature provided by your applied method of questioning. Just kidding 😉
Which is btw for the common reddit poster apparently a quite limited exposition…

  12. Not sure if this will make you feel any better Waldodude but I would say that about 70% of people are pretty much morons. They don’t understand the concept of reason. They can say the dumbest shit with no idea how to explain themselves when asked why they would make such incoherent statements. I for one commend you for dealing with all the stupid shit that gets said in youtube comments and those reddit posts. Keep trying to get games made better.

Welcome to the internet. You’ll spend most of time bashing your head against the wall and maybe after some time maybe a couple of people will get it.

I guess your best bet is to post stuff on the official forums too if you aren’t doing that already and hope that a developer is watching/reading it. And ofcourse ignore all the posts that don’t add anything of value.

  14. Someone on WD’s lastest video (y u no ADS one) commented this on youtube (not reddit):

“$20 says this guy went and cried on the DayZ forums after about how “hard” and “imbalanced” the game is.”

It was completely unrelated and not sure why he posted it. For some reason everyone likes to comment on WD’s video calling him things like “CoD kiddie” and assuming he finds the game “hard.” People can’t seem to wrap their brain around humor and assume that all you are doing is whining.

But seriously, those faggots at reddit seriously need to grow a set of balls. Then they will see how your videos are masterpieces. It seems like they find a way to give the game community a bad name, regardless of what the game is. Anyways, keep up your great vids.

P.S How is it with TGS?

  18. Well if we take the advice of the reddit users on this* thread the only things that hold day z back from perfection are “secret caves,” “quivers for crossbow bolts,” and “virtual pens, pencils and paper” to leave notes for other players. What’s even more amazing is that rocket is responding positively to this shit.

Haha, you know I saw some of that stuff and while I’d love to have quivers for crossbows and “virtual notes”, it has nothing to do with fundamental game mechanics.

You have to laugh so you don’t cry.

  21. It seems to me people completely miss the point of your ‘talks’ sometimes. As if pointing out the flaws with a game is blasphemy and punishable by mass e-shunning/raging. Things won’t get better if the blemishes, on an otherwise great mod, aren’t pointed out.

End of the day, let the haters hate as they add view after view to your videos. Reddit is a decent community most of the time, but trying to get constructive criticism out of that site is like trying to herd cats. Maybe if they get their ‘virtual notes’ added in, you can leave little notes scattered around that point out the game’s flaws. Perhaps they’ll take better to that than someone talking to them like an adult.

Some of those ideas aren’t that bad, but for a game that is to be released before the end of the year, a lot of work on the basic stuff is still needed. Unless the team has some secret build they’re working on for a long time now, I don’t see a good game coming out this year (although they follow the Minecraft model here, so I guess a very basic version similar to the mod can be expected).

But most suggestion threads for games are full of small feature things anyway. Thoughts about basic mechanics is just boring!

  24. I don’t know man, reddit seems to be full of people that contradict themselves. There is the reddit rescue force or whatever that wants to help people with medical supplies and set up noob camps in electro and cherno, and then the same people upvote camp raids, car ambushes… Also they want to help people out in the coastal cities and gear them up, and then they criticize you on your downtime video saying that DayZ is not supposed to be easy, and that downtime heightens the PvP experience, even most redditors disagree with PvP. The point is its hard trying to get feedback from people that cant make up their own minds, and you shouldnt get worked up from that.

Also, i agree that suggestions shouldnt be taken until the fundamental aspects of the game are fixed. Then after that work on other things.

  25. There is only one subreddit that is good. Every other subreddit is merely an echo chamber for people in the 13-18 range. There is a huge over-representation of marginalized groups, as well. (if you went by Reddit’s population then it would seem that everyone in the world is a “Brony,” when in reality almost nobody is [i hope. I will kill myself if that many people in the real world are that into a show like that.])

“PEWDIEPIE AND SEANANNERS LOVE DAYZ SO IT IS SUPER GOOD.

Also those guys are terrible and they sold out and cater to the masses for money. butistilllikethem.”

It’s just super frustrating. It has so much potential but it really is completely ruined by the fact that it’s just screaming children. It’s the same thing as 4chan, as much as 4chan likes to pretend that participation in that site makes them the elite of the internet. Still jobless losers who have no idea what this world is or how it works and are willing to spend their days talking about it.

So, all of this to say, go to http://www.reddit.com/r/circlejerk and be happy. Sometimes it is hard to tell they are joking there, especially when they mention something about Europe. People on reddit are insane about Europe.
