What I’ve learned about partnerships

Figured I’d throw this up here as I usually do when it comes to Rabbit holes and discussion heavy vids.  I’m sure I murdalized many a point here and failed to explain a few others.  Lemme know if there’s anything I can clarify:

  1. This certainly helps clarify some of the partnership bullshit. However, I’ve always been curious on Bruce’s opinion of Machinima.

  2. Very good and clear video. Kind of a shady business this whole youtube thing like I suspected with little overview and regulation from Google.

Kinda ruins it for people too that just want to make the videos to improve themselfs in certain areas (english language, communicative skills) or express their opinion about games without caring too much about money or fame.

Agreed. I reckon you’ve talked to Bruce, or gotten some advice or whatever from his point of view. Not that he’s ever talked about this shit publicly(in any case, I for one didn’t notice it), but he’s been in the game for a while.
What I’m wondering is, how the fuck does this seem so simple looking at other channels that are partnered, while being a pain in the fucking ass for you? Is it simply cause other channels don’t elaborate on the subject the same way you do, or has the partnership/contract/moneymaking aspect of YouTube changed drastically?
Also, keep up the videos. Rape, necrophilia, or death has never been so entertaining.

  4. It is because most people just sign it with no questions asked.

Most of the questions I have people aren’t asking because they don’t know or they’ve come up against the same walls and it just shuts them down. I’ve obviously posed the same questions to Bruce and he doesn’t know nor does he have a way of finding out.

  6. I would agree with you when you say you hope google just puts a stop to this eventually. In my opinion, partnerships are not a good business model for youtube. When it comes down to who actually has legal rights to payment from the website, for a gaming video, you’re left with three parties. The developer of the game, the site that is hosting the video, and the person who made and uploaded the video. The idea that a fourth party has any right to be paid for the combined intellectual property of the other three is pretty ridiculous.

  7. So right now, how likely are you to finding a partnership? Would it be somewhere within the next month if you were to go to machinima? Is the recent trouble with all this partnership crap the reason why you haven’t been uploading videos as frequently (at least it seems that way to me). I wish you the best of luck anyway. Love your content
